Following the successful implementation of Module 2 of the "Nature Benefits: From Theory to Practice" course (8-11 April 2024), participants have emerged equipped with practical tools and insights to make a tangible impact on environmental conservation and sustainability. Module 2, titled "Putting it into Practice," focused on enabling participants to elaborate on their experiences at a site or regional level and harness the benefits of nature in their daily work.
Throughout Module 2, participants had the opportunity to delve deeper into utilizing nature benefits in various aspects of their work, tailored to their own interests and organizational needs. This included exploring effective communication strategies with stakeholders, identifying alternative solutions for sustainable development and restoration projects, seeking alternative sources of financing, and planning site management strategies.
"Module 2 provided us with invaluable insights and strategies to integrate nature benefits into our daily work," remarked Mr. Gjorge Ivanov, a participant of the course. "By understanding how to effectively use nature benefits in plan and project applications for restoration or alternative solutions for development of an area and incorporating nature-based solutions into our decision-making processes, we can make meaningful contributions to environmental conservation and community well-being."
As Earth Day approaches, the completion of Module 2 underscores the commitment of participants to translate environmental knowledge into practical action. Through collaboration and knowledge exchange facilitated by the course, participants are poised to make significant strides towards achieving environmental sustainability goals and the global call to protect our nature for future generations.
The final phase of the course will take place from 4th to 6th June in Zagreb and online.
